I used to be a verified member, but it became real tedious after about 4-6 months of remembering to manually purchase $10 worth of fg. Especially because I was on and off being active at the time. It would be nice to set up a $10 monthly subscription instead. This way I can maintain my verified status, inbox bonuses, etc. Even if I happen to go inactive for short periods of time.

Worst case scenario you decide to retire long term. Cancel your sub. Done.

Any downsides?

You would think. I've tried to come up with downsides, but I can't think of anything major. So long as people can cancel their subscriptions at any time, why not do it?

I've even considered potential banking/legal hurdles. As far as I know it should be no issue if, as a requirement for subscribing, users must provide proof of identity along with their method of payment. That way D2jsp would have legs to stand on against any charge disputes. Obviously people could redact their address, card numbers and other personal info when submitting for verification. As long as their name matches the card, it's good. Right?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Voted yes, I would use this myself - I still think the annual proof of ID should be required however.
Currently just need to make a purchase to get my Verified status back, after returning from a hiatus.

e/ this suggestion was just the push I needed :D
Requesting the verification back as we speak.

e2/ took less than an hour to complete, the newer verification system they implemented is seamless and efficient - I imagine it would be simple for them to keep that annual proof of ID and offer a subscription FG purchase

I can definitely see some restriction to remain in line with the current ID verification rule for verified members. Make it so subscriptions automatically end after 1 year. This would require people to re-apply/re-submit proof of ID to enable the subscription again.

Or alternatively, make subscriptions only available to verified members in the first place. Since their ID is already verified, it would be seamless. Might encourage more people to become verified status as a result.

Maybe you could also get bonus fg on the 1st of each month as well, like right now $10 gets you 290 fg, but maybe if you're on the subscription service you'd get +500 or something
