Have you guys considered fully automated mediation service? This could function much faster than the current system and could potentially be enabled by default as the only variant, especially for fresh accounts.

The future "recipient" of fg would get notified (either via GUI or a PM) that the buyer already set aside ("committed") his FG for the trade, and the FG transfer would eventually go through once both parties confirmed a successful trade by clicking some button.

This should be enough to show a proof of sincere trading intent, and also the FG is already subtracted from the main pool, so cannot be used for gaining trust with other sellers.

I honestly don't see how the current system benefits from human mediator involvement. In case of a real dispute, a SA post is inevitable regardless.

Steps:
1. Open trade with selected user via sales thread; FG gets commited and set aside via a transfer, and this is visible to the seller
2. Transaction goes through once confirm button is hit by both parties
3. Transaction is cancelled if cancel button is hit by both parties, otherwise FG remains blocked until SA is resolved.

If I receive an item and I don't "release" the fg, doesn't that create problems and just fill the SA forums as usual?

Currently SA system works in a way that permanently removes FG from the site. If scammer is locked you don't get your FG back, this FG is lost forever. You only get that FG if he ever comes back and wants to repay - but will have to find someone else to repay for him, or outright buy FG from site.

So yeah that would be nice but will never happen because it removes incentive to buy more FG

If the fg is not released, it goes then through SA. However, a dishonest buyer would be risking their account and their fg is already held, so in practice no one is trying this.

Arguably, a more convenient and default mediation system could be a game changer for the business, because more people would trust and rely on the website. Currently jsp is rather perceived as high risk.

It already is automated pretty much now.
You request a med and they dont enter games.
You send the fg through the portal or whatever it is, which doesnt get released until after both parties have confirmed the trade has been completed.

What tells you that jsp is “high risk”?
If you use your brain it’s impossible to be scammed.
