I too have experience in contracting. You would be surprised at just how little some ppl know about what should be basic common sense stuff. But what is common sense for some isnt for others, It would be a chance to be a help to someone on jsp for something else other than a game, I voted yes. Good Idea.

kinda easy to call out people that don't know what they are talking about to those of us who do as in any forum Oo

When it comes to construction, its easy to tell is full of talk and who has a little gumption about them.

Thanks, appreciate the honest input and opinion.

Also I'm sure some of the younger users are in school and are interested in perusing a trade ie. Trade or Vocational high schools and could use help and advice in career paths etc. So does apply to young non homeowners as well not just us older people

e/ I went to a vocational high school and still to this day 17 years later think this would be interesting and useful ;)

I have an idea for a forum. Everyone one this site lives in a house/dwelling, it is a common factor among us all I assume.

I am a contractor by trade, carpentry mostly but do excavation and other stuff as well. (Every thing from excavation to handing over the keys I do it all.)

Think of Home Depot and Lowes they are huge success chains based on home improvements / I personally give them about a 10% knowledge approval based on hiring any warm body person to stock shelves ( point being most free advice is worth what you paid for it..)

Why not have a forum for us in the trades to post threads as well as answer trade questions and save people some hassle.

feel free to pm me any related questions or needs of advice and hope to help in the future.

I've been thinking of doing something like this, i do the same thing, construction/framing and everything else to finishing carpentry.

Great idea, can't wait to see if it happens.

Thanks for the support and the vote.

Ya currently working for a high end finish company myself, but do alot of other stuff like yourself. what ever pays me the most ;) have been every thing from a laborer - to a assistant site supervisor/working foreman for 13$ million dollar Massachusetts Housing Authority projects that involved up to 230 units of tenant occupied first class renovation.

Including a gas heat from electric heat conversion. with gas main trenching over a water bridge and complete exterior and grounds remake including a huge pool that was nonoperational when we started.

The 230 unit project lasted 2 years

As someone who is getting heavily into real estate, contracting, building, designing, etc, I feel the addition of a forum like this to be awesome.
