I just think they don't wanna allocate the resources. Limited resources as is, starting another sub forum is not number 1 priority. FPS games have never been big on here.
I just thought it would be a cool IDEA to have a sub forum for it. Gonna be the next biggest shooter for a while to come. This site just doesn't have a lot of good die hard fps players.

are you referring to popularity on jsp? or popularity in general?

can you point to another RECENT thread based on "voter count" that you would expect a popular game to receive?



on the viewer count point, valorant viewership has been consistently high over the last 3+ months, this is long after the beta key promotion that the game ran on Twitch. Valorant has consistently maintained itself as a top 5-10 game channel, and you should note that this is even prior to official esports being introduced.

on your voter count point - i dug through some threads, even on something that's universally applicable (quick send private messages), where the vote is overwhelming unanimous (93% yes to 7% no), there are only 200 yes votes.

what kind of votes are you expecting? and how is that a good indication of game popularity in general?

best you can do is look for matchmaking.. which that should be built in already

there is supposed to be gifting introduced, similarly to league.

/e also where do you see built-in matchmaking? afaik all matchmaking is on discord servers.

that's a site feature your asking for a sub forum for a game that you can only discuss , there is no trading you cant do on account services etc no reason to add a sub for it. even under other games section you can do a search for it no ones made a thread to even talk about the game if you really wanted to set up tournaments, and discuss the game why hasn't anyone posted anything ?

the most recent game i can remember getting its own sub was wolcen and it def did not need its own sub an it has all kinds of trading but if you look at the top 50 post its the same people one guy even has like 12 trade thread on the first page because it of how dead it is

doubt it has anything to do with resource allocation jsp isnt run on a cheap server from the 80s , fps isnt super popular here because its a trading site and most fps game u cant trade in, the few you can do indeed have their own sub.

if you see the post above, you can see riot confirmed trading is coming, which is no surprise given cosmetics, premium items, and similarity to league of legends / tft in that sense.



2. posting
i'd attribute that to two primary reasons: 1) it's still a relatively new game where features are still being introduced, such as trading and 2) there isn't a great medium to make those posts which disincentivizes people to do so. i would've happily posted for a group if i saw a SF even though i don't even play the game that often

are you comparing game popularity? i bet i can prove valorant is multitudes more popular than wolcen

god no im saying wolcen was shit and got a sub that is dead and it had trading an now its in a space where people bumping threads for +1s pretty much.
Id prob make a new poll once trading gets added as for now there is no point in it but even then only 83 people voted yes so its a very small community on here youd be better off making a thread in the other game section an maybe making a discord for making groups

im not against adding it if its needed its just not needed atm

i mean wolcen was very much a low popularity game

given i've been addressing all of your points to the best of my ability, can you at least attempt to answer some of my questions or discussion points? maybe i can lay it out if that's easier for you to understand:

- derek says viewer popularity will fall off in april once key distribution is over
- cjw responds with valorant remains top 5-10 game 4 months later (far after key distribution is over)

- derek says voter count on jsp thread is low (80 yes votes out of 1k views)
- cjw responds with link to a higher viewered, more broadly applicable thread that has comparable votes (200 yes votes out of 4k views)

- derek says there's no trading
- cjw responds with thread of trading coming, and points to league/tft trading system as secondary indicator
