Can we all just agree that no legitimate 2003 player with 0 posts is going to return in 2019?

How many multi accounts dont get deleted along with names. I agree with orlando.like diablo deletes inactive accounts why should jsp be any different.send new email out or rewrite a user agreement. Inactivity on account for example a year will result in deletion or name loss.

No just because I can imagine myself going inactive for years and perhaps come back at one point and have some good times again.

I see the interest in this though, I have been checking several times whether name I want is available or not and it is unlikely I will ever get a chance to snag it.

Simply not true I made this account from beginning just to have access to certain parts of JSP when JSP was used for a different purpose than today, and I as well have associated gmail account that I used for a few years until I had to get a grown up e-mail lol was associated Clan Makers of Heaven at USWEST way back in the day, originally tags were M[o]H-DinGo which was what I used when email was created but a special squad used the tag [MoH] a little bit later hence the name DinGo[MoH] that I used for d2jsp, https://snag.gy/RBMmhS so there goes your theory of no body ever coming back...

Diablo/blizzard is also a multi milliondollar company with thousands of workers.

This is an educated and precise comment that I think is good for discussion and I value the side point.

I do wholeheartedly agree with you however I think long term this should be addressed and given the chance to have someone request something and reviewed shouldn't be a problem. I wish I could PM Kevin or Njag with this account then say simply, Hi I would like to have this name and see what they could do for me?

It's weird for me because as a sys admin we have these rules set up to delete excess user accounts from our company simply because of database space. We allocate a certain amount of server space for each user as a network drive so they can securely store data on our domain for ease of access on different machines and in the event of break fix hard drive failures. So each user we purge we reallocate a ton of storage space on our SANS.

Inactive users on forums don't take up significant disk space. Your cloud host is nothing like d2jsp and the comparison isn't really valid. In your case, inactive users cost money, while on d2jsp inactive users don't hurt anyone.

The only people bothered by it are those people who want to have extra style by using super common names on a very crowded forum. That's not something the administrators should be wasting their time and resources on.

And what happens when said inactive person no longer has access to the email they originally used to setup the jsp account?
