Have you been near the DII trading ground in the last year?
There are threads with over 20 bumps in as many minutes that no-one bothers reporting because when it finally gets closed it'll just get reposted and the same thing continues. No-one EVER gets warned for early bumping. Hell i thought they were supposedly strict in the LS forum but i've got a thread with 3 reported early bumps from 2 days ago and it's still not closed.
There are dozens of spam threads on each realm every day and i never see any of them get warned. most of the time they don't even get get closed by a mod, but just max out at 60+ replies.
Early bumping and spam are much easier to police than early reposts (no post searching etc involved) but if the mods don't do anything about them what's the chance they'll do anything about the reposts? Maybe I'm being pessimistic but I can't see that happening.
The reason for this is due to the VAST number of people trading/posting in those threads, so realistically the mods in charge of that forum are either to overwhelmed, or not even on at all to deal with this influx of violations. We all know that wouldnt happen here, as your talking a ratio of what 1:10 compared to those forums?
Either way, the option to have user close request is definitely a great option if we could not control our threads ourselves, or you could have this option cost say the same charge as a rainbow orb (or more) and only those who are SERIOUS about using such a privelege would be weeded out, and if the auto-warn was put in effect, then you'd have less violations. Or maybe not and Im thinking like a naive person. We wouldnt know unless the chance was provided to us. Most of us in this forum are responsible adults, but then again you have your exceptions as well.
