how do I say this...

First there is no good reason for this..nobody on here is a lawyer (at least none of us) so nobody should be giving legal advice to others.
Even if it is only friendly, legal advice should be left up to the counsel that you are appointed or hire.

This idea could work if it wasn't for legal advice, but just law in general.

I am almost inclined to say LOL at yet another person bringing up that this is for "giving advice". I believe my very first post on this thread sums it up.

basically I am thinking of a forum which people could discuss local, national, or global criminal cases and trials. Debate the evidence with eachother. I think that there are a large number of people out there that enjoy doing this kind of thing and that it will be an active thread.

discuss, debate................................................ am I missing where I have said anything about giving advice ?

Show me at which post I say that this is for giving advice, I happen to know I have said far more times than I care to really count, that this is not for giving advice.

Also how do you know that nobody on here is a lawyer? do you happen to know the occupation of every jsp user? I know there was at least one guy that said he is in law school and would very much like to see this forum be created.

I take it though that you did not take the time to read the whole thread, or you might realize that.

read the whole thread as to ensure your vote remains unbiased.

If you would like to debate something with me about this idea (clearly you have not read the thread so I will state it here) then cite the source when giving examples, when referring to a jsp post in this thread state the page and post number. For examples of how both of these can be done read the thread and see how I have done so.

again to everyone who has yet to vote, read the thread. it is mainly 26 pages of bumps. Should not take the average reader more than 15 minutes at the most, but really more like 10 at the most. 128 for yes 73 for no. How much more of a yes over no ratio do we need to get this created?

Thanks for the vote anyway pry.

More than the ratio, I think it needs to be something useful.

But hey you're doing good at getting defensive on a POLL (an opinionated poll)

So keep doing that and goodluck.

yes opinionated.... based off of reading the whole thread. No need to make it personal because I called you out and you were unable to back up what you said.

If you would like to discuss things more without actually backing up what you are saying in the manner I have mentioned then feel free to start pming me so you can keep your personal attacks ("But hey you're doing good at getting defensive on a POLL (an opinionated poll) So keep doing that and goodluck") off the poll I have created.

I don't really feel like repeating myself. so reread this page here and maybe you will figure it out yourself.

Thanks for the bump though.

Okay so you want to discuss criminal cases. Lawyers and tv shows do that.

I have nothing to back up, I still feel how I told you. This forum won't happen anyways. Ttyl

Voted yes. Very interesting subject. Debate is always nice. I would say no personal cases such as one that is happening to you or someone you know (at least substitute names for fake ones)

If the best you could come up with is a t.v show.......... maybe if you read you may be a little more interested. As the books on this subject are a bit more detailed and interesting then a t.v show. Also there are t.v shows and professionals (to the related field) that can be tied to many of the forums, such as Culinary Arts (http://forums.d2jsp.org/forum.php?f=152) which has the stated forum as well as real chefs, and the food network.

I look forward to debating with you, as a fellow interested jsp user.

yes, nor is it difficult to refer to someone in terms like plaintiff and avoid any specific identification altogether. Also a disclaimer located in a sticky for the forum, which will include specifics like jsp is not directly responsible for anything a jsp user says. All users take full responsibility for anything they say in the jsp forums by posting in jsp forums, ect......

If someone wants to comment on the disclaimer than read what has already been said about it before commenting. Much like one should be doing before voting and commenting. Again this thread is mainly me bumping it for 26 pages, so it will not take you long.
