So here is how the suggestion would work:
In the left of the image you can purchase a guild alliance slot (1,000 FG). You would only get 1 guild alliance slot per guild.
To be in an alliance, both guilds have to have an alliance slot purchased. You would be able to end a guild alliance at any time for any reason(1,000 FG).
If the guild is sold, the alliance will be ended.

Benefits:

Guilds who are in alliances have a combined Ladder Slasher vault.
Guilds who are in alliances can catacombs together in guild only catacombs.
*NEW* Guild Topics could be shared(but administration rights - to the guild topics - are in their own guilds ONLY.
*NEW* With the release of d2jsp Instant Messenger (dIM) guilds that are in an alliance can also access their alliance's guild chat.

Pros:
- Guilds Alliances can chat easier in both the guild topics, and the guild chat feature via dIM.
- Guilds Alliances can slash accordingly including combined Vaults as well as being able to Catacombs together.

Cons:
- People will complain on the cost. (it gets FG out of the system BOTH ways now, purchasing, and ENDING alliances).
- Might add a little to the site load? not sure though.
