This is not the easiest site suggestion, that in the sense that it in parts covers a major and recent Update to our site here, along with the recent new Tool Feature and the Site Announcement. Opinions are going to be of a wide variety and I respect that.

I agree with you that the information displayed and the current set up of it is the intention of it. The Admins set it up that way and for the site, for us,... So thus making me believe this topic or something similar would be a step and in the right direction to discuss the Landing Page and suggestions for it. Making room in a simple manner, like I have in this suggestion here, could make it so some members like yourself could enjoy a Welcoming Section when logged in. I'm not sure how this would benefit the variety of community here but maybe adding a Calendar Feature would be a nice experience on the landing page for you. I don't know.

What would you like to see on the landing page and would this site suggestion help you enjoy that?

I'll actually vote yes, but I'd like to expand on this idea. I would love to be able to move elements of the home page and customize it to my own personal liking.

voted yes because the landing page is showing information which is 30+ days old, most of the time.
i'm rarely seeing anything new and i'd like to minimize old / known information.
if there is new information, auto-maximize it upon release - i wouldn't mind - then let us minimize it whenever we wish to.
