it's all very well saying 'the mods should stamp on it quickly to make an example' but with the amount of rule breaking they just don't bother with, i doubt that's going to happen :/

sure they will.. because how many ppl are thread trolls that would easily and very quickly report the double posts? once reported.. then the mod steps in, and if abused we all know anyone will recieve at a min. a warn.

I see were your going with this seems like A nice idea but I feel that people would miss use it and abuse. Rather than being able to close it yourself why not add a "request closed topic" button for the traders thread?

it's only been forseen.. the option has never been added for actual facts or standards.. this "being abused" idea.. falls under every other spammer out there. I say weed them out!

Please everyone.. intelligent comments.

Have you been near the DII trading ground in the last year?

There are threads with over 20 bumps in as many minutes that no-one bothers reporting because when it finally gets closed it'll just get reposted and the same thing continues. No-one EVER gets warned for early bumping. Hell i thought they were supposedly strict in the LS forum but i've got a thread with 3 reported early bumps from 2 days ago and it's still not closed.

There are dozens of spam threads on each realm every day and i never see any of them get warned. most of the time they don't even get get closed by a mod, but just max out at 60+ replies.

Early bumping and spam are much easier to police than early reposts (no post searching etc involved) but if the mods don't do anything about them what's the chance they'll do anything about the reposts? Maybe I'm being pessimistic but I can't see that happening.

On topic, i love the idea. I think it would really help, and i don't think it would be abused to any degree. But if it was, i don't think anything would be done.
ps. the 'request close' button sounds like an excellent idea to me.

This would hugely benefit the d2 section as well.. there are so many topics made on east, this could help minimize it, but as far as everyone's early bumps and posts, spam etc.. that is a whole other problem that has not been fixed due to not enough people doing the right thing, including possibly tags not issuing enough warns. Idealy, it doesn't have anything to do with my suggestion.. your adding another problem within my suggestion.

yes well I am aiming for a better result.. it can't hurt, the most that can happen is paul can say NO.. and it will be left at that. I think I have provided more information and others opinions to this desire of more..

currently 2 to 1 (yes to no).
