Absolutely love the idea!

I like the idea of allowing users to choose to ignore stylized post content.

you gotta take in consideration that we barely see any colored text as it is. about 1 out of 400 users bothers coloring their text because its such a fucking pain to do every time
if you allow them to take the lazy route, we'd see a LOT more of it. vry painful for the eyes

and allow me to enlighten you as to why the "disable text effect" option wouldn't work

would be seen as

for the users with that option checked

It wouldn't be hard to separate the differences between strikeout and color options. Not to mention I don't think many people are going to abuse strikeout.
As for the "bold/red/underlined" portion of FT LIST; you could as well leave the "text option buttons" above the text box that can act differently than having an actual board text settings as I have come up with so that this problem can be avoided. Also anyone who abuses the system could very easily have it taken away from them if it becomes a problem for an extended amount of time or permanently if it continues. But thanks for the use of profanity and trying very hard to read extremely deep into this to attempt to dispute me but did not do very well. Your post for profanity has been reported.
