If I have family in Geneva and I want to send them half of my paycheck for groceries I have to buy an international money order of sorts. There are fees involved. The vendor then has to take that money and move it through multiple layers of financial institutions which can take a week or two. If there are any issues during the process is may take weeks more to get the money back and then re-sent.

The same process with crypto: send to a wallet ID with a small fee. She can then convert that coin to fiat for free or a marginal fee. Done.

I'm not a BTC hodler by any means, btw. Just think the tech is cool.
