Fair enough.
How far do you have to drive to get to the nearest mountains/trails for a worthwhile hike?
Hiking is super fun dude!
west coast trails british columbia is something else.
also, plan to travel to austrailia and do some backpacking there as well as new zealand. And HOPEfully, Hawaii. good lord man. I'd absolutely love to backpack in Hawaii.

Go by yourself.
If you continue waiting for others, it'll never happen.
None of my friends in Ontario wanted to travel, I just fken dipped.
Sometimes nobody wants to hike, so you gatta trek it out yourself.
Go sight seeing man!
how far have you travelled? by car/plane and where?

I was born in cali, so i visit there every now then.

My only vehicle atm is a motorcycle so i do plenty of sight seeing while on cruises but not really the vehicle to find a trail and leave the bike sitting in a parking lot.

Already had one bike stolen from me before. A 2014 zx6r

And no offense to you but theres a lot of other hobbies id rather do.

Granted a blog or travel thread you make would be pretty cool to follow.

I now see your point/reasoning.
lol
Well, at least you sightsee from your bike! haha.
Maybe a car in the future? a cheap one.
Put a tracker on your bike. and taker for a long cruise!
Will do my best.
Depends if i tree plant or pack parachutes. or neither, then i'll be currently pooched for a job during the summer until further applications.
Lost around 5-7 jobs due to corona and injuries in just the past 2 years.

You know, I would never contribute to a subforum like this, but it would be very nice to browse through it sometimes. I voted yes!

Sick dude!🤟🙌 I think it would benefit tbh.
An outdoors section I guess really that consists of mainly backpacking or multi-day trips/excursions.

man.... some of the most amazing view ive seen are in hawaii.

Koko head hike is an intense vertical climb. When you get to the top, its like you can see the whole island.

Each hike on oahu has its value though. Iaea loop trail is pretty cool with ridgeline mountain walks overseeing the H3 interstate and crazy drops. I had my dog with me and if he fell... i wasnt getting him back

id reccommend looking into the Oahu camping website and getting a camp spot on the oceanside. $50 for 3 days of premium real estate. Youd have to rent a car to make all of the hikes happen though.

thats in a tent but, they have showers and such. waves dont get over 5-6ft but its fun as hell to ride an inflatable whale over the waves lol. not all camp sites are the best though. closest spot for food is about 2 miles out from the beach.

https://camping.honolulu.gov/parks

look up bellows beach camping on this one. The sites (on this campround only)sell out in the first minute to the locals. You have to reserve them on friday noon hawaii time. You could get away camping here on the days without a pass if you have a small tent and get a bit closer to the ocean. Just dont... camp there outside of camp days. The military uses it during the week.

^^ trust me... bellows is the one you want to go to. If you ever go, pm me and ill give you underground tips on your visit

watch out for man o war washing on the beach in the morning...

Other camp grounds have longer camp times but not as awesome

I went ahead and voted yes.

I can see this benefiting peoples real life adventures, which in return can benefit other interest and possible trades on our site. I often find people enjoy traveling, and talking about those times can really help keep the memories around.

I would prefer to enjoy something like this in a private section of our forums, in which would seems like an adequate and reasonable way to help maintain a quality level of these types of Sub-Forums.

I also find it reasonable that one would have to become a verified member, and yearly, to be able to access these kinds of private forums. There may also need to be some other requirements to help balance out the time and cost of all this, in which should be built in a manner that can continue to build onto the foundation of the site. I would not rule out the ideas like it costing forum gold to make Posts on these forums, much like topic upgrades, as backpacking and more is not the reason people come to our site.

In the end it costs to go backpacking, taking pictures, sharing things, and more. So I would be happy to enjoy this sub-forum among other similar interests while putting time and forum gold into it. To me the competition all the social networks, platforms, forums, and more have with each other can be irrelevant if our site decides to go with a private section of those models, maintain it with ease, integrity, and with returns for our site and its members.

Big Task, Great Benefits. Done right, we win.

what seems like a reasonable way to make a forum like this survive ? Can you tell us ways you would make forum gold in this forum, or how you would spend forum gold?

Sort of like gfx, would you want to provide services from your own experiences and skills, or even other things you have found along the way, here on our site? For example, I like to collect some dirt to places I have traveled, then I gift some of it to someone it reminds me of. I find the structure of the world, environment, and all very fascinating. Going out and collecting artifacts and can be fun too, along with finding a variety of species of trees and more. Rocks, fossils, real life and life size photos, epic sounds, videos, etc.

Starting sub-forums like this would also benefit those who do not get to backpacking and more. It really is a win win win situation, just got to get it right.
