There are people who could go on months or even years to earn one person's trust, just to take advantage of the person in the end. I have seen that a lot IRL as well as in video games.
After taking out all the FGs, the person could just spend it all on game currencies before being taken action against.

But maybe I am just being paranoid.

The guild bank already exists. Members can use their own fg to buy perks to the guild. It's not a collective bank, but it still gets the same job done.

I personally wouldn’t give anybody ai didn’t know IRL the ability to access Guild Gold. I would advise that if others too.

I like the idea. But I guess there have to be lots of new rules to make it sure against any misstreatment.

About the issue someone can grab the fg and scam it: The leader can give the permission to acces the bank (thats how you planned it ? ). So the leader can have acces himself only or give the power to in his eyes trusted people. Now you could ask why this is needed if you can hold the fg as person. Well I can imagen that some people my seperate guild funds and private fg and have it spatially separated.

Even if I agree, I can imagen that the effort to implement this and to overthink the rules it is not in proportion to the benefit for everyone.

Yeah, I just like the idea of being able to rank guilds by other means than Ladder Slasher Points. Having a rich guild is like something you’d see in an anime or something and I kind of like that idea of guilds being able to use their FG influence in the name of the guild and not have that underlying what is truly the guilds gold and not the guilds gold. Outside of creating a multi in the name of the guild or some crap. Which is illegal I’m pretty sure.

I also like the idea of having officially sponsored tournaments & events in Diablo and such.

Okay let’s have each guild put in a 5,000 gold entry fee at the beginning of ladders that gets sent to a mediator. And the first guild to have a level 99 wins.

You can have guild fundraisers like guilds can host services. For every leveling job 10% of that job goes to the guild collective for PVP tournament entry fees like way back in the day when Palapk Nation & Melee used to unofficially sponsor melee tournaments and melee ladders. It could be official with this.

Although I do see the argument of “scammers can use gold banks to funnel stolen FG. I don’t think it would take a lot of programming if somebody gets caught scamming and they sent a sum of FG to a guild bank. That gold could be confiscated. Gold logs and all can prove these things.

Guilds are site wide. A Guild Leader sees a lot. I do not want to review Forum Gold Logs and ask everyone 100 questions, or any of the other unspoken truths. If you need to support the Guild and its members with Forum Gold then I suggest building a Ranking System to support that. This will help build you a team that understand and desires to be involved with moderation of Forum Gold used for the Guild and correctly. It also enables the Guild owner to allow someone to take a responsibility for a mistake and not have it moderated by the site staff. You also have Guild Topics which can be used for when someone is interested in any Forum Gold set aside for Guild members. This also enables transparency among multiple Guild Members and could allow for a Guild Owner or other High Ranking individual to be completely out of the loop of such a system.

All of the counter arguments I hear are like using a pair of sheets to mow the lawn. They offer the same results but take more time and responsibility of the owner. And a lot of them offer more room for error and misinterpretation the the actual solution.
