There's no need for this.

That creates unnecessary more amounts of work for something so minimal.

- Would take up less server space on jsp
- Mediators would have easier cleaning forum topics
- Users wouldn't waste time writing a pm to someone, or posting in his old thread that haven't been closed

Mediators are still cleaning the forums aren't they? for topics that needs closing?
So tell me how that is more work ? It should be less work for them to do this way..

Topics are never deleted from here.
Mediators don't close topics. Moderators do.
User closes topic to avoid someone posting a public SA in the topic
User closes topic to avoid people posting after agreements being made.
I could continue to type here for days, but no.

When someone's done with a topic, we don't close them. For example, in the trading grounds, when the user is done with its topic, it doesn't get close, it will just die from itself. So that won't "help" us.
Also, I can already see people closing their topics, then realize they still need it, so the PM a mod to have it reopened, which leads to more work for nothing. I can also see people taking advantage of this so they close their topics when they're not pleased with it and then just create another one for the same thing..

No.

Simply put, to remove ones own topics, instead of just writing T/C and unsubscribe that topic..
Why not be able to remove it?

Pros
- People won't mistake an old topic for for a "still need" or "still selling" topic.
- The forums will be much more comprehensive for users to search in.
- Mediators don't have to delete as many topics as they do now, when they see a closed topic.

- People won't make such mistakes if the person bothers to edit the first post with "sold".
- uhm, what
- Mediators mediate trades..

Problem is that the first post have a time limit to be edited in.. so if you sell late, you have to rebump to write T/C ..
