I said that I, as person who changes name, should have an option to make my name-change history visible/invisible to others.
I don't get how is this not useful. People, who want something from me - say graphic works which I were used to do a lot back in the day - and want to contact me if I can help them, how is this not useful if they can find me even after I have changed my name (for pure reason of not liking my old name). This is just one example. Parallels could be drawn for many different situations. But have an option to hide name-change history, as well.
Then state your old name in your profile if you want people to know who you are / state it in your signature.
Like HardyTarget said, is just another "staler suggestion".
If you changed your name on Facebook, am I allowed to find you with your new name?
Doesn't make sense, besides, if its that important to you, you can state in like I said.
