As mentioned, you would NOT be able to edit original comments. Only ones that were left blank can be filled in and would have some kind of distinguishing feature that marks them as edited.

Personally, I voted yes on the other one, because I prefer to keep the original comment (if a person decide to not add one it's his choice), and it's also easier if there is a need to check gold logs for a Moderator (exemple about a Scammer Accusation) because the comment will stay the same.
But on yours, I voted no sorry.

Its honestly the exact same idea, just mechanically implemented in a different way. Diff box vs distinguishable font/color/italics, etc. It all comes down to which one requires more coding. A separate box its def a good idea. But if you read through the whole thread, you'd see the whole SA thing was already addressed. I can admit having the 2 boxes is more logical. I'm all for it. My MAIN suggestion is that we have the ability to edit comments. It would only be seen by US. Anyone else looking would see no comment there if none had been made originally. We all know that mods can see gold logs, so any SA argument is a moot point.

I say no because it seems to me that editting a goldlog can create confusion for people when they need to see proof for something
aka (if you buy something from someone as edit that transaction to make it something else and claim it was that and sell it. Or hide a transaction aka buying unperm as unperm and naming it as something else to prove to ppl its not)
and more, just can't think on top of my head. (top is for d2 related scams i can think of that might happen)

Maybe if ur "edit" was like the other one posted previously where the editted version is different font/color and on to the side

Yes.
People who asks for s/s of the gold logs will ask the client of their client version is it not?

No. Because

A ) edits will be distinguishable from comments made original to the trade
B ) edits will be seen by the USER only, meaning when a mod looks at their gold logs (which they can do, screenshots are just a formality), they will NOT see the edits made by the person


Let me clarify, once again, that I DO like the idea of having 2 separate boxes. However, I feel that putting another box in there will make everything else too crammed. There isn't exactly a lot of space available (you have to consider the character limits).
So, in that aspect, I prefer my idea.
