lol the guy selling names is complaining about trading accounts

Names run real risks of being remade in the .5 seconds it takes to delete and remake them. I know this cuz I lost 2 2-letter names this way. That is a liability factor that the name maker has no control over. And if he does scam a name saying it was taken when it wasn't it can be scrutinized on the spot and his reputation will suffer from it.

Account trades are more insidious. They can be traded and go months without a problem. Then instatly the account is infiltrated and all the items taken. There is no way to control this and the blame is hard to put because if the person selling it did it he can say it might have been a hacker or the persons younger brother.

Name trades are completely different from Account trades this way.

It's about PROTECTING d2jspers. Not protecting you cuz u dont care. Protecting the guy who just made his first 100 fg from trading items he self found and buy's a lvl 99 paladin account only to have his items taken away 1 month later.

Let's say 30% of account trades are a scam. If 30% of shakos for sale stole ur account, shakos would be banned. 30% of Account sales are scams so why are they legal?

The numbers dont matter. Its the fact Accounts aren't secure. They're like unperms. Later down the road they bite u in the ass and the buyer has no control over this. At least put a fucking disclaimer that says "when buying account know that the seller can access the account at any time in the future"

This should be obvious. Only buy accounts from trusted and well know players in the community, or people you actually know. And Stay away from 2013 players.

If people ever thought about how they do their trades, there would be no scams, and we wouldn't even need trade moderators(Okay, untrue, but my point stands).
