also I cna personally say this is an easy job to doshouldn't be much work on his part, maybe a bit of mental work to implement it with the current system but definitely attainable quite quickly.

I voted yes.. but the only way I'd keep it a yes is if it could be disabled.

Since most things on here are 'at your convenience' based. This looks to be only a convenience, but I don't see anything wrong with it.
If you're trading and don't use jsp IM, or hate to refresh then I could see this being particularly helpful.

This is actually one feature off of fb I wouldn't mind, so sure, it couldn't hurt to have it implimented.
And if you have multiple tabs/windows open or just doing other things, a visual notice wouldn't be bad to have.
