Everquest still have a fairly large player base believe it or not. Especially now that it has gone free-to-play.
According to "compete" the player base is only rising every month since last year. With an average two months ago of 26,000 unique visitors.
That number I can only assume will sky rocket when compete gives out the latest months info seeing as Free-to-play just started.
I will also add that Everquest II last month on compete averaged 95,000 unique visitors and should also only climb from there seeing as it's also free-to-play now as well.
Lastly, if you are going to base your decision on whether or not this game isn't "popular" enough to host it's own dedicated Thread. Maybe you should take a look at some of the ghost town threads some games currently have.
Take note, this is just "half" of the Other Games sections whos threads are all ghost towns for the most part. Keep in mind also that all of these games are also newer than Everquest.
