Ultimate Fighting Championship is the brand name of a mixed martial arts promotion. Yes, they have previously hosted tournaments under their brand name. It appears like you're under the impression that UFC is a synonym for MMA. Most people unfamiliar with the sport often confuse the two.

Creating a sub-forum for "mixed martial arts" under an already existing sub-forum labeled "martial arts" is quite redundant, don't you think? :P

the name of the actual tournament is "ultimate fighting championship', just because it is named after a brand doesnt mean that it isnt the name of the tournament/contest, etc.

in reply to your edit, maybe something like what matrixdude said and just have the betting overflow into a sub-forum, so that way the topics arent so bias towards MMA

But it is also a championship, tournament, or contest; named after the brand, that is part of the brand. :bonk:

By your logic, a business named after the family; is part of the family, when in fact it just belongs to the family as a possession ^_^.

the store is still a store, and the family is still its own family, they co-exist, seperately.

would be nice to seperate mixed martial arts into a different sub forum because 95% of that forum is about mma

im a huge boxing fan and any posts concerning boxing with be flamed/spammed by mma fanboys and all the boxing threads disappear quickly because people are busy betting on UFC events
