I think this would be very helpful - with the search bar in the trade forums i sometimes get PMs for items i have already sold or already bought, and I'm sure it happens to many other people too.

And it's not exactly an abuseable privilege. i vote yes - as long as it doesn't make a post at the end to bump it to the top again <_< if the 'closed' post doesn't bump the thread it'd be good.

edit: if it makes a post at the end, that'd be a way of some people +1ing. they could og through all their old posts and close them, spamming the top pages of the trade forums and getting posts in the process.

In my opinion, it would increase the number of early reposts: you make a topic, nobody post in it, after 20 mins you close it and make a new one.

I see no logical reason why we shouldn't be allowed to shut down our own trade threads. This would also save some PM's to mods asking for their thread to be closed.

Like I mentioned about reposting violations, if a mod closes your thread you have to wait (minimal) one hour to repost. If you violate this, no verbal, should be auto 10% warn to make an example of people and their retarded +1's. Such as inb4denied.

this would fall under the early repost rule, and result in warn ofc..

not really, as you see I have provided more idealism into this and effort to the idea.

EDIT: please continue to criticize.. we need to read it in this thread.

it's all very well saying 'the mods should stamp on it quickly to make an example' but with the amount of rule breaking they just don't bother with, i doubt that's going to happen :/

True, but if you have enough people breaking this rule (as would happen in LS and regular trading forums) the appropriate mods WOULD respond, and we all know Rick wouldnt stand for this kind of abuse in here, where this type of suggestion would be VERY useful, but Im just another random, what do I know?
