I understand the issue but imgur is still one of the absolute best image hosting sites out there and their service works well for D2JSPs auto upload feature due to their API support, it would likely add an additional cost to D2JSP to swap providers.
Why don't you make a list of specific alternatives and add it to your topic so we can see them, I feel this would add clarity to your request.
I have to assume you are not having this issue yourself as your signature and avatar are hosted by Imgur.
I am actually unsure why my sig and avatar display correctly for me, as you are right they are imgur, like 50% of peoples profiles and avatars are just an img icon for me, and when i try to copy the image address of my sig or avatar im unable to open it in a new page, and if i attempt to upload to imgur i cant, view the site, i cant.
The only thing that i can think is that it was uploaded before the restrictions came in to play and therefore not subject to the latest OSA regulations? but then i can't see a lot of sigs and avatars of users that likely predate these regulations too, so i have no idea.
Curious to know D2JSP's position on this.
While I understand switching providers may come with an associated cost, so too does neglecting concerns expressed by an entire region of your community. Assuming the OP's issue is factual of course and not just user end. That being said, I believe it is worth looking at and considering possible resolutions.
As for alternatives, I wonder what would be needed on D2JSP's end in order to entertain switching providers.
Personally, I use Postimages. Mostly because uploads don't get compressed automatically like they do through Imgur. Which matters to me because I upload GFX work.
They also offer a website plugin feature. Wonder if that could work here on JSP?
I believe that website does work for me also and i have had to use it in threads myself since the imgur problem.. I wonder if there is a way to implement postimages instead if they offer a plugin, as far as i am aware that shouldn't affect any other countries but would solve the issue for UK users.
