You should just edit your threads after your sale with "DONE" or "ITEM SOLD" if you would prevent people posting in it after it's done.

A reguest thread closure would end up doing alot of ekstra unnecessary work for the staff - this is not needed imo

I can see how this would create a lot of extra work for staff though. We’re talking thousands of threads per day being manually closed.

It would make sense in trade forums to just allow the user who created the tread to lock it. No staff intervention needed.

As mentioned above this idea has been suggested before. While I agree it seems like a good idea at first glance, there are other factors that should also be considered.

Could this system be abused in any way?
Is the feature worth devoting the staff's time to manage these requests?
What happens when someone accidently closes their topic?

Questions like these are likely the reason why it has not been implemented yet.

There are pros and cons to this feature and in my opinion it would bring more harm then good. Voted no, decent suggestion but overall I don't think it's necessary, if it's a trade topic just edit your first post and put "Trade Complete".

We will not be allowing users to close their own topics. If you're done with a topic then please just leave it (stop bumping it) and the system will handle it (archive the topic).
