I think it would be beneficial in some forums to be able to mark the topics that you have already looked at as unread so that it would be easier to find them at a later time. Alternatively, highlighting them would be a great option as well.

The goal here is to visually mark something that you find important that you want to come back to at a later time. Tracking the topic doesn’t necessarily produce the same result. Examples of the forums where it might be beneficial would be discussion forums, S/A forums, G/H forums and anywhere else where you might find a topic that is important, and you would like to highlight it for yourself without tracking every response within it.

Please see a basic visual example of how it can look:

"Mark as Unread" could be replaced with "Highlight the topic" or something similar

Once you press it, the topic will appear as unread in the forum, or it could be highlighted in another visual way.

The idea could be implemented in a different way.
However, the main goal is to be able to mark a topic visually.

Voted Yes!

This could easily come in handy in areas like the Scam Accusations, Trading Grounds, General Help, Graphic Requests, ect.

Nice suggestion

if that topic is important for you and you want to come back to it - track it.
New topics will push that topic you interested in down and to a next page.
on top of that, you won't know if you read it already or not and have no indication of what you marked as unread and what not.

I guess I should clarify that trading forums would probably not benefit from this feature. Tracking a topic does a better job there. However, in other forums where topics don’t go down as quickly and you usually open every single one of them to check on it, like SA or GH, this could provide an additional utility.

Thanks for your feedback though :)

Can't see the benefits of this suggestions even on non trading forums ( my first post was referring to every forum and not just the TG ) as my post valid again for the non trading forums as well.
You suggest something that is doing the same thing as Topic Tracking but I stead of going to your tracked topics list, you want to have it in the forum itself, disabling totally the topic tracker ( there will be no use for that feature ) on top of other problem your suggestion create.
On top of that, that basic of topic tracker is to track the topic whether you want to go back to it on different time ( long topic, can't/don't want to read it all now ) or you liked it and want to save it or just information topic.
Basically the tracker gives you the ability to do exactly what you offering, just not the unread topic option you added inside the topic.

Hey again Yakir and thanks for your reply.

I understand your point. You are correct that the general goal of my suggestion and the "Track Topic" feature is ultimately the same - it is to allow players to be able to highlight/track a topic for them.
However, my suggestion is a little different and can bring additional utility/convenience to some users. For example, I want to be able to visually highlight a topic without receiving notifications about every post within that topic.
If you are busy helping in a particular forum and trying to answer multiple people at the same time, it is a bit distracting to receive more notifications on top of tracking responses of the topics where you are currently replying to users.
This feature would work well in slow-moving forums like SA, GH, or even discussion topics. Also, some people are more visual and would like to simply unread/highlight the topic instead of tracking it.

Can you explain further how your suggestion would help keeping track of topics in "slow-moving forums"? With the number of topics being low (as in GH or SA), why would you require additional assistance coming from highlighting certain topics?
