With what is going on with the world today, many of us escape to games or whatever to dealing with what is going on in our lives. Getting help is even more difficult now, wait times are through the roof if you need to talk to a professional. If this could help one person it would make it worth while.

Heh this hit home, i suffer from mental illness and i can and do zone out on nothing regularly. I can be mid conversation and ask the same questions 4 times, I hear what is going on but recollect nothing. Sucks.

First step any person in that state of mind should do is get advice from people online. Talk to a professional, or call the hotline.

This is 2021, not 1995. I understand what you are saying I really do (ex military) and any vets that deal with mental illness know the ramifications from work that have happened over the years. Honestly IDK how many people I have lost to suicide family included. It is something nobody likes to talk about, because it is uncomfortable, pretty much everyone knows a victim to this. The biggest difference is that mental illness is invisible. I have a handicapped parking pass as well, I am considered young my illness isn't something that anyone could see and I often deal with people telling me I am not disabled shouldn't have a parking pass. Do I feel flagged because I have a handicapped pass? Honestly kind of, but I need it so I must deal with that

Me to, where I am at I have waited over a year for "emergency mental health care" sometimes it isn't just that easy to call someone and get the help you need.

my DMs are always open. I won't share in detail here but I have a history of suicide and some stuff in my family and have had a lot of friends die from suicide / drugs. I'm no doctor.....but I'm here.

You could find those people to talk to on a forum as OP said,
my point was that it's also the place you'll find bad people trying to prey on you
