I often see people getting 24 hr suspensions for hitting a word filter and not knowing it. I also see this come up in General Help every so often. I don't think it would be a hard task at all for Paul to create a stickied thread stating all of the filtered words that would cause for a 24hr suspension. IMO it is wrong to suspend someone for saying a word that they had no idea caused a suspension.

Certain words are filtered...words you wouldn't expect to be filtered. Doesn't matter if you follow the rules or not.. the 24 hr suspension doesn't give 10%.

If there was a list of words that would cause suspensions, people would just look at the list, then edit the word or link slightly, break it in half, put spaced between the letters, etc. People might know why they were suspended by the word filter, but the purpose is to discourage discussion, not to discourage discussing it without editing the link in a certain way. Also, if there was a list of banned links or names of sites/programs that are on the filter, then people could just refer to that page to tell someone the prohibited list, and describe its location on that page. For those reason and maybe more, this has been denied many times, and would not be a good idea.

voted yes. i got suspended once for word filter and was never even told why i got suspended. it's pretty silly to have a list of words that no one knows about that can randomly get you suspended.

just suspend the users that work around the words imo...at least some people will know the words and can avoid being suspended. the ones that try to use the words can be suspended/warned.

illegal words aren't listed in the rules though
