you should consider condensing the graphic design sub as a whole to condense traffic and centralize feedback within the community. as it stands, the showcase and gallery/Q&A sub do not receive any traffic, and as a result the threads go unnoticed and questions unanswered. i advocate removing them both, leaving only the request forum and graphic design general forum.

similarly, i believe the photography sub should get it's own tab. it's a separate entity from the graphic design section, and having their own tab would bolster their activity.

perhaps i'm going a step far here, but it would also be nice to have a graphic design "janitor" of sorts to moderate the sub from within the community. the ripper accusation thread is a bit of a joke, and it would cut down on ripping significantly if we had a mod who comes from our community, instead of an "outsider" who isn't familiar with the work of individual artists.

I think you should combine showcase and q&a tutorial to tutorials and showcase AMA

So you can keep some showcases and galleries alive with AMAs so that it benefits the community so that showcase and gallery isn't just a showboating thread pile and also serve a educational purpose with inputs

The graphic design forum definitely needs some major changes.

Merging the Graphic Showcase and Gallery with Q&A and Tutorials might be a better idea than removing them completely.
I'm not sure about the Photography forum though. But it might be worth a try at least.

my rationale in terms of subforum removal is that, when compared to the traffic the graphic design sub gets, q&a/showcase are just eyesores and wasted lines of text

in addition the that, when people post work for critique or have a question about anything graphics related, they're always posted in the graphic design sub as opposed to the q&a/showcase subs, or their threads will go unnoticed due to low traffic.

i feel like if the subs were merged, they would still go vastly unnoticed by the majority of posters, just as even the request forum is often overlooked by newcomers to the sub looking to purchase signatures. perhaps it is up to us as regulars to encourage traffic to the AMA/showcase merge, and if we could make that happen, i agree it could potentially be a better option.

I think photography is fine where it is.

The questionable subforums are Graphic Showcase and Gallery and Q&A and Tutorials

Graphic Showcase and Gallery is nice that only mods can move them in there but it really is just a sitting pile of topics which multis use to get their +1s.
Q&A tutorials is not used much nor is it paid very much attention. Most people get fed up and post in the main forum anyway.

The "Q&A" part should be removed of course.Making it a sub forum just for "Tutorials and Galleries".
Questions should be asked in the main forum.

I believe normal users won't have any short of powers to moderate subforums or other sections without earn a trusted tag, and grind yourself up the staff ladder as normally.

From what I've seen, jsp's photo gallery already replaces the 'Graphic Showcase and Gallery' subforum.

As for the 'Q&A and Tutorials', people are just posting in the main forum for questions and the like ignoring that section in most cases.
Might as well make the general section the correct section.

Photography is somewhat slow, but it does deserve it own sub-forum since most people on here usually talk about photoshop work.
