I cannot find the link, but I recall njaguar turning down a suggestion of having posts in a guild topic count towards post count - but he did suggest an idea along the lines of "guild post count" - that is exactly what this suggestion is.

This would be an option (below guild, or below regular posts (in the below picture, you'll see it as below guild) that would add to your "guild" post count for guild chats that you post in.

With the assistance of Protagonist, I've created this site suggestion

Figure 1: The guild post count (see left menu)

Figure 2: As an additional feature, guild admins may edit if their guild topics would add "guild" post count or not, however this is just an idea.

xxxx = Guild posts / My Event Posts

Alternative which adds my event posts as well.

Having it like this could work showing it does not add to the overall posts yet you are still active.

Only thing that would look strange is your user profile with X2 Parentheses sets back to back.

That's a very interesting take on the suggestion - both myself and Protagonist will take that into consideration.

EDIT - With the User profile - another section could be made for Guild/Event Posts.

I think maybe put on the miniprofile in brackets beside regular posts, but in the profile possibly have a completely new section for the Guild and Events (removing them from the personal info tab, and removing events from the calender) - could be a whole new suggestion!

But I like adding events into the suggestion! (Although events could be a tricky add)

I don't see this being helpful. Non-moderated sections should not count towards post count and I don't think there needs to be a 2nd post count'

As a direct link to njaguar's suggestion:

I'd like to thank RaveTheGo for the link and part of the idea!

I would say no for this as suggested.
But if there would be option, (which you can buy) in guild that guild leader, or any ranks that he enables to see your ppd number.
Just to see users activity in guild in numbers.

Just a sidesuggestion torwards the idea.

We are already paying for the guild topics.
Reason why guild posts / event posts should be useful is because it shows that you are active person even if you do not post a lot on the forums itself.

Unsure why you would accept ppd for this and not count number.
Ppd does not matter personally since it is based on join date.
I could have 1000 posts within guild topics and my ppd would not be that high compared to a user that posted 10 times and joined yesterday.

Example
Joined: Jul 23 2012

More active then all of us no?
