My suggestion is to change that so that you get the same message in PMs as you would if it was a post!

This would reduce unwanted accidental PMs, spam pms, etc. etc.

No. PM' ing someone a quote can be the message itself.

You already see plenty of people posting garbage after a quote; as they simply want to post the quote as their message.
(referring to: +1, this, vouch, ^, ..., etcetera)
