I was told to "interpret the spectrum" in my instructions using the photo as a figure. its title is Figure 2. I'm not quite sure what it means by interpret, or what information my prof would be trying to get me to state. any one know how to interpret a sound spectrum?






As well as a second set I have to discuss and interpret the properties of the sound by referencing the three parts of the figure. Any help would greatly be appreciated

well i dont know either but i would go with basically the following



first lets look at the 3rd grafic. Its shows that the sound is about 1,5 seconds long first of all.
The main area of that sound is between 0,5khz and 1,5khz. (2nd) That means it is quite in the range of speaking noises.

We see (first grafic) that the most pressured noise is around 1khz with a high peek. Which is strange and i cant explain it yet.
also there is various "noise" in the spectrum above 2khz (see grafic 3) which suggests high tone noises. Like a drum has, or like a car noise sounds.

the first and fourth grafic doesnt make sense to me much.
They show the same variables on another scale (first shows pressure and heartz from 0-100db/hz and 0-2khz, the 4th shows 0-60db/hz and up to 10khz)
however if you would look at the fourth grafic and only look at the first bit (1/5) then it should be pretty identical to the first grafic.
which it isnt. I dont know how that can be.

the second graph shows the sounds travel through time and it shows that you have very quickly changing frequencies, like it happens with speach music or some noise. We can see in grafic 3 that there is quite a lot going on simultaneously.



Im not good at imagining that shit. But i guess that is what you would have to do.
