Hey guys,

I've been stuck trying to think of a project for my accounting class.

1) Assuming the role of entrepreneurs who are starting a new business with $100,000 to invest. We may borrow up to $500,000 at 10% interest.

Not asking someone to write it but just thoughtful ideas to get started.

If anyone wants to go more in depth, I am willing to exchange a good sum of forum gold to get a good project started.

Please PM me.

Mine was about starting a furniture company, we restore antique pieces and create replicas for museums and historical properties. Every business and accounting class I took used this model for projects. I got to use almost the exact same paper for every class final, just took minor edits to adjust it for the class in question.

I would do a service base business.

You aren't accounting for the sale inventory related costs.

You can borrow 500,000 at 10%, ok. At what term though?

The list of service ideas are really endless:

Lawn care service (cutting, trimming, edging)

Sub- contracting business ( Again, not to mess with inventory)

Pet grooming business

Financial Advisory business

Even if you do a service based business, there is usually some form of inventory that needs to be accounted for. Pet grooming business or hair salon selling shampoo, well drilling business selling pumps, etc. Although it is still easier since it isn't as much. Financial Advisory business would be the most streamlined thing I can think of. However, you need some experience, not the easiest thing to start up.

I really appreciate everyone's input!

My team (all girls...) decided we should do an Ice Cream Business.

That being said, we have $100,000 to invest and we can borrow up to $500k at 10% Interest to start it up.

So far, I am looking at just random ice cream website and just seeing some designs to put together for our business.

I'll be posting stuff here as I get stuck.

Once again, I read everyone's response and I really appreciate it so far!
