the electric field is produced by two parallel plates

Code
given:
mass of the end charges is 18g, length of the thin light non conducting bar is 5cm, each charge has a magnitude of 39.5 and the potential across the plates is 9V

Questions:
a. show simple harmonic motion ensues when the bar makes small departures from equilibrium

b. if I want the period of oscillations to be 2 seconds how far apart should parallel plates be?

for a I have

F(restoring)= -2qEsin(theta) = -2qE(s/d)

-2qE(s/d)=2ma

w=omega
w=((qEs)/(md))^(1/2)

Does that prove it has shm?
and not sure where to start with question b

this doesnt seem right for b but this was my attempt

f=w/(2pi) = 1/(2pi) * ((qEs)/(md))^(1/2)
f=1/t=1/2

1/2=1/(2pi) * ((qEs)/(md))^(1/2)

V=-EL
E = -V/L

*L being the distance between the plates

1/2=1/(2pi) * ((qs(-V/L)/(md))^(1/2)
