Any ideas on thermal systems that could be improved, and how?

I have a homework assignment in which I need to pick a thermal system, describe how it could be improved, and prove in depth how so using a first order equation/heat transfer/thermodynamics/fluid mechanics etc etc

Can be as simple as a microwave, car radiator, ice maker, etc

Just looking at different ideas for the moment, let me know if you guys have any ideas.
