Hello, I am working on exercises about physics, and I would like input from competent people.

Here is the summary : A circuit(serie) with 3 resistances

R1= 12 OHM
R2= 8 OHM
R3= 16 OHM
Find the intensity knowing that absorbed power = 3600 W

So here is how I would do, I hope that's right :

First I find the Re = R1 + R2 + R3 Re=12+8+16 Re=36 ohm

I=square rootP/R I=squareroot 3600/36 I=60/36 I=1.66A

Am I doing it right or not at all?

Thanks!

P = I^2 * R

3600 = I^2 * 36
isolate I = 10 or -10 A
