I have zero clue on how to create an xbrl/xml file for an example purchase order.

i dont know anything about xbrl, but xml is straight forward enough. are you already familiar with xml?

as a starting point, identify the information that seems relevant. for example:

Vendor, ShipTo, Item, Qty, Cost, Amount

We can see that there can be a list of items, so we wanna keep it in a list.

eg:

<Item>

to start with, validate it. your items/item tag is off
