At what position (other than infinitely remote ones) can the 45.0-kg object be placed so as to experience a net force of zero?


im lost.... can any1 explain i did alot of work and keep getting it wrong

d^2= 5.45/2.45 (.25 - 0.1 +d^2)

d^2 = 0.55612 - 0.22245 + (5.45/2.45)

1.2245 d^2 - 0.22245 + 0.55612 = 0

idk where i messed up but using quadratic i keep getting wrong answers

took me like 4 times of reworking the problem and i kept getting wrong answers..

No problem I've always been happy to see all my degrees in math have tended to help with other subjects that I never really studied myself. I think you may have just been plugging into the wrong formula but if you ever need help feel free to pm me.
