I need to design a circuit with different resistors and relate them to the power dissipated by the different resistors. She also said I coiuld extend further into different appliances in a home/office and the type of resisters used there.

Pm me for details... Can be done in paint

What level class is this?

Normal resistors you would be talking about direct current and direct current resistors are pretty easy to understand in just terms of parallel, series, and equivalent resistance vs the direct current power source (battery etc).

This seems to be pretty good at explaining the basics of DC resistor voltage circuits.

Once you step into appliances and what we actually use in our homes, it is alternating current which is a whole different monster.

If you haven't touched AC circuits in your course then this is a rather simple assignment.

I don't think the website covers it but: P = IV = I^2R = V^2/R
