Describe the process to prepare 50mL of 1.0M aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide.
What you have available is a bottle of sodium hydroxide in solid form.
Show calculations and explain the proper lab procedure using the correct glassware names. (hint. solution preparation)

1.0M just means 1 mol of NaOH in a solution totaling 1 liter

50ml is 50/1000 of a Liter

I'd assume you'd use a pipette, volumetric flask, and scale for 50ml

dilute it 10x

5 mL 1M HCl + 45 mL water = 50 mL 0.1 M HCl

1 M/0.1 M = 10 = dilution factor

vol of 1M HCl needed = overall volume (50 mL) / dilution factor (10)

50/10 = 5 mL, make the rest up with water (45 mL)
