its not a problem, its just the concept im confused about...

how do u use the reinforcement ratio (rho) to check if compressive or tensile steel has yielded or not? theres alot of rho balance equations and im confused about which is for whcih

This may help.

Video looks like it covers it pretty well, and he has a lot of other videos.

Near the end he's got a relationship between rho and steel strain which would give you failure.

I saw all his videos already for concrete, he only did it for singly reinforce. I'm only interested in the rho balance for double reinforce. The equation is quite different . Ty anyways
