First of all to me:

I am 23 years old, studying physics @ Germany in the 7th semester now.

Anyhow: The question is (I think) rather simple and does not need any deep knowledge^^




In the picture above you see the problem.

It has to be a rather short answer, as it is only worth 3points - so nothing to special.

I am pretty sure I have to use the Bernoulli equation... But I cant figure out the solution =(( I miss any relation between v_1 p_1 & v_2 p_2

Input of any kind might help me to solve - thanks!

Pretty simple. It will move outward, away from the flow. This will make the cross sectional area larger and lower the velocity. Also a lower velocity leads to lower pressure drops.

but if the tube is moveable, and has a pressure on it, it could move inwards depending on that pressure.

but a free moving wall will cause it to just move outward

ye I was also pretty sure that it moves outwards. but is that enough to justify my answer?^^

I feel like a deeper justification is asked

yeah, i would also add say that the outside pressure is less than the inside pressure and to lower this difference the wall is pushed outwards.

Okay thanks.

Just the thingy that made me ask my self, that he named the "v" and "p" so you can use a formula... on the other side it is maybe only to clear up explanations.
