lets say this is a sentence I want to use

"His first step was to expand Sound of Music's offerings to include appliances and VCRs."
what if i change it to
"His first step was to expand Sound of Music's offerings to include VCRs and appliances."

will changing 1 simple thing like that mean I don't have to cite it?

also how would i make my front page for APA format paper? its a research paper on the company Best Buy
would it go like this?

Best Buy Co Inc.
My name

Partner #3s name

of course you still cite it. why are you rewording it anyway?

/edit: be careful of the quotes. i'm not sure if you're supposed to use [ ] over stuff you changed or what. i dont see any reason for you to change the wording in the first place, though.

You must still cite it.

Well the reason for changing the sentence is so I don't have to cite so many things.
It is a research paper on Best Buy, and I don't know anything about the company's history.
So wouldn't all of the information I get need to be cited because its stuff I did not know?

Not if you completely re-write the sentence, aka paraphrase. Then you can cite it at the end and not on a sentence by sentence basis.

Well what if I copied everything pretty much word for word from my source, well not like copy and paste the whole article just the stuff I think is important, Is that really ok as long as I cite it to give them credit?

Not many sources tbh, googled history of best buy or something like that and there was not much sites.

Copying direct sentences, or only swapping words is pretty much blatant plagiarism.

But I am not saying it's my work, I thought plagiarism is if I do not give credit to whoever I got it from.

Omg idk I'm just dumb. Been out of school too long.

Writing a paper is claiming anything you write as your own unless it is otherwise cited.
