A machine requires five hours to make a unit of Product A and six hours to make a unit of Product B.

Last month the machine operated for 250 hours producing a total of 60 units.

How many units of Product A were produced? Solve by creating a formula.

let x=# product A
y=" " B
5x + 6y = 250
x+y=60 :P

that's what I did,

plugged your equation 2, into equation one gave A = 110, totalling 550 hrs which doesn't make sense

yes,

my equations were exactly what you've written earlier, not sure why you erased it

then x=110 y=-50 wud be the only solution, unless im not understanding sumthing
ie no theoretically possible solution

youre guaranteed a negative result for one

Consider only making product a(the easier one to make) make 60 units of a then your total machine time is 300hours

So from this I would assume producing one product will influence the time of producing the other

/e I would put this and say no viable solutions

how do you prove there are no viable solutions, you need an equation to prove that
