trying to prove 1^(an) where (an) is a monotonic sequence is of the same type as (an) monotonic meaning (increasing decreasing strictly increasing and strictly decreasing)

I have a theorem that says constant sequences are both increasing and decreasing, but how do I get strictly increasing and strictly decreasing?

any ideas?

1^(an) is always constant. So you can't get strictly increasing or decreasing
