So lets say my box and whisker plot has a median of 2 and quartile 1 is also the number 2. What do i do? Just leave it a box with no line in it or should i bold the quartile 1 line or what?
please help.

Is quartile 1 exactly 2 or did you round? I would use more precise numbers for this small of a graph(2-3 decimal places).
Also what is quartile 3 then?

To make it easier
lowest point=1
Q1=2
median (Q2)=2
Q3=3
highest point=6
Outlier=10

My data composes of a good bit of 1's and A LOT of 2's

Were you given the data or did you calculate it?
If you calculated it and rounded, say from 1.6 to 2, keep it at 1.6 and label the xaxis in .5 decimals.

Assuming you did not round, I would put a line, and then a bold line and label the first Q1 and the second M, and just fill out the rest of the graph

/e I would just use a bolder line to display the median.

Alright! thank you very much. I'm fairly good at box and whisker plots but this was a survey of 100 people and the numbers mostly bunched between 1,2, and 3 so it confused me when the Q1 and median were the same number. I'm just gooing to bold the line but thank you for the advice. I appreciate it.
