I am writing a big assignment regarding a combination between social studies and athletics. I need a subject to write about, but I don't have any ideas. Does anyone here have any good subjects to write about? Anything is appreciated.

You may want to narrow the subject range.

The most obvious example is the Miracle On Ice -- The 1980 winter olympics where Team USA beat the USSR in ice hockey and went on to win the gold medal.

The 1936 Olympics held in Germany is another tightly linked place where sports and social studies mix.

Actually, you can probably make Olympics during times of geopolitical strife your central topic and see where it takes you.
