I need to create a 24" by 36" poster that will be printed by a company with a poster printer.

I've never created anything like this before and was wondering what program I could/would use (hopefully free) to organize the various graphs/images/text on to be able to send it to the company to be printed.

I believe the file I need to send them is a 'high res PDF' but idk how/if I can lay out the poster that way.

fg for tips/help!

call the company and ask what they want. don't assume they want one format then find out that they won't accept it or have to charge you a fee to convert
probably try the graphics section on jsp too

use powerpoint, and pick custom slide and adjust the size. when you're done export it as pdf.
