I think it's (2,-3,-1). You can plot the point on the xyz axis. To get a parallel point by x axis, all you do is to change the sign of z value.

it says the point parallel point to the x axis is (1,0,0). I was just wondering how they got (1,0,0). You just flip the z value?...huh.

My gf said the above her reasoning seemed fine
from what I could remember about linear algebra these problems were just a sign flip

This makes zero sense, coming from who has been through linear algebra.

Specifically, the IR^3 Maybe you use different notation?
