the graphing one you need to pretty much realize what "rate of change" and " y intercept" are
rate of change is slope (the number in front of the variable x)
the y intercept is just the lonely number all you do it compared the two the equation for the graph (function

first you need to realize its linear and the rate of change is rise/run and the y intercept is where it cross the y axis so
it rises 1
runs 2
its slope is 1/2x
the function crosses the y axis at (0,-2)
so the y intercept is -2
so the equation is y=1/2x - 2
then you just compare the numbers and its obvious
the line the passes through points you need to know the equation
y=mx+b
first solve for m using
m=y2-y1 / x2- x1
you get -2-1/6-0 which equals -1/2 so now you got your slope
-1/2x
to find b fill in your points for x and y and solve for b just like you would
y=-1/2x + b lets use (0,1)
so at x=0 and y=1 we get
1=(-1/2 * 0) = b
1=b
so we get b=1
put that together we get
y=-1/2x + 1
for the table problem you are just asked to put into numbers that make a function you don't need an equation you pretty much just cant repeat the pairs that are in the table and you cant have x going to two different y values so put like
8 in for x
9 in for y
think about it this way when you picture a graph of a function do you picture like lines on top of each other? no you probably think of one squiggly line
