√(3x+3) = √(x+2) + √(x-1)
Notice that the expression exists only for x greater than or equal to 1, because of the term √(x-1).
Square both sides :
3x + 3 = x+2 + x-1 + 2√((x+2)(x-1))
Cancel out some terms :
x + 2 = 2√((x+2)(x-1))
Square again :
x² + 4x + 4 = 4 (x+2)(x-1) = 4x² + 4x - 8
Cancel out :
3x² = 12
x² = 4
x = 2 or x = -2
Eliminate x = -2 (see above)
Finally x = 2.
